Lil' Cutie

She's done and she's adorable!  I just need to print and cut her out with an Exacto Knife.

Almost done

Step 1: Thumbnail
Step 2: Draw and Scan Drawing
Step 3: Paint the image digitally
Step 4: Clean up line work

When I paint digitally I always think, "Thank God Photoshop doesn't charge for layers", because I put everything on  separate layers and only merge them when I'm 100% satisfied.  Once everything is painted, I clean up the line art.  I save this for last, because I like the texture messy, fine lines give my work and by saving those until the end I can see which lines add depth and which lines are just messy.

Last thing on my desk...I swear!

Last thing on my desk...I swear, is an old Ill Friday image (talented). I never got around to cleaning up the line art or painting it, so I thought I'd keep the water colors in the drawer and work on my Photoshop skills.  It's a good start and I'm really happy with it, so I think when I'm done I'll have a nice portfolio piece.

What's on my desk...also?

This little cutie is the front of the pop up Mother's Day card that I made for my mom. My plan is to make a Youtube tutorial on making a card with a wheel, but I also thought it'd be cool to upload some of the in progress images.  Step one was to plan out the layout by making a thumbnail; mine are usually  really messy scribbles, so I never post them.   Step two, which is shown here, was to draw & scan the image.

What's on my desk?

I like to call this one "Prayer of the Older Sibling".
