Inktober #3 the Gibson Girl Challenge

Can I say how much I love Inktober!  It's been a lot of fun & since it's almost over I thought I'd try something harder and what could be harder than replicating a master artist. So, this is my study of one of the most famous modern women.

Guess what month it is?

It's Inktober!  I participated last year, but I never posted any of the pictures on my blog.  So, this is my 2nd year of Inktober, but my first official post!

Playing with Prismacolor Again

Sometimes Prismacolor markers..... kinda......uh..... make me want to scream.  They are the Mariah Carey to my Nicki Minaj. There I said it!  They're finicky & difficult to blend, I can spend 30 minutes to an hour on the smallest of drawings,  and the colorless blender always does the opposite of what I think it should do.  Yet somehow, I'm always excited to play and practice with them, and when a sketch turns out halfway decent I feel overjoyed.   So, maybe they're the Ross to my Rachel--totally loveable but sometimes we need a break.

Happy New Year!

Happy 2015 everybody! For me, 2015 has started on a fantastic note...busy, but fantastic.  Yours truly is taking 2 art classes this semester (digital painting & human figure I), applying for a gallery show at a public library, getting ready to  study art in Italy next summer (maybe this summer, but not holding my breath) & I've been commissioned to design thank you cards for a local non-profit!   Whaaaaaat?! Yep, I'm that busy artist.

So, here are a couple drawings from my human figure class. I'll re-post the one on the left when it's finished.
